Grove House School, Folkestone

Grove House School for Boys was established by Rev. John Clarke Senior.  According to the 1841 census, John was a dissenting minister.  By 1851 his wife, Ann, is listed as a widow.  She is running the school, supported by her son and daughters.  By 1861, John Junior had taken over the running of the school.

A photograph of the school may be found at the bottom of the page on this link: http://bbhilda.topcities.com/Folkestone/FolkestoneBuildings.html
